The official report of Garret Dillahunt being cast in Lanterns came from Deadline, with the outlet confirming the actor had landed a major recurring role as a villain in the upcoming series. They eventually played a key role in a storyline similar to Secret Invasion where civilians were sleeper agents for the organization. Given Lanterns is set to be heavily inspired by detective stories, such a character like Macon would be the perfect foil for the titular heroes, especially if he turns out to be a Manhunter all along.
