‘Inside Out 2’ Writer On Emotions That Didn’t Make The Cut & Director On Hoping Procrastination Land Gets “Used Somehow In The Future”


Inside Out 2 introduced more complex emotions like Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Envy, and writer Meg LeFauve recently revealed the other emotions that didn't make the cut.

In a recent interview, LeFauve said that characters Shame and Guilt almost joined the film, but they were ultimately scrapped. “I do think we all have that self-loathing critic in our head, and we got to go there a little bit with the projections and how Anxiety can start to do that to you,” LeFauve said. “So I think it’s in the movie, but that was one thing we explored that we didn’t ultimately feel was fruitful for this version.”
