Form-flattering fits used to cost hundreds of pounds from top designers, but now the high street is flooded with options to suit all price points – and New Look is leading the way with its expansive collection of designer-looking coats. I've been scanning the virtual shelves for weeks in a bid to find a trench around £50 that has belted detailing, luxe-looking buttons and a perfect neutral shade, and I kept coming back to suggestions from New Look. If you want a similar style featuring a hood but for less money, I also love Asos' rubberised rain parka coat in mushroom, £45 here – ideal for April shower season!
