Because of my crutches, I was getting agonising blisters on my hands which meant that I couldn’t walk as much, so one day my mum came up with the idea that we could create our own with moulded handles for increased comfort. I only intended to make enough pairs for the people I was in physio with, but in September 2006 we launched Cool Crutches 11 months after my accident and sold out our five colours and prints.
