‘I was attacked by five dogs at home - it looked like I’d been mauled by a shark’
EXCLUSIVE: OK! speaks to Heidi, 36, who has appeared on Channel 4's Emergency, about her road to recovery after being attacked by five dogs at home two years ago
Each year the trauma system treats over 12,000 people with a whole host of injuries - one of which has been Heidi, 36, who was attacked by five dogs in July 2022 as she made herself a meal in the kitchen. The medical team at St Mary’s Hospital looked after Heidi following the incident (Image: Channel 4)After a paramedic warned that Heidi needed care otherwise “she will die”, she was taken to St Mary’s Hospital with multiple puncture wounds and deep flesh injuries across her legs, arms, and chest. While at hospital she received a blood transfusion and a plastic surgeon performed a surgical procedure to clean the bite wounds to remove dead tissue and to protect against the threat of infection and the risk of her losing her leg.
