Many mocked it for looking like a fan film ran through a color desaturation filter, as well as claimed that any reboot of the franchise beyond Ron Perlman’s take on the character was doomed to fail. Exclusive images of Jack Kesy’s costume in Hellboy: The Crooked Man led many fans to believe that he could be a worthy take on the iconic cambion. It’s likely the villain’s origin will be adapted relatively faithfully in Hellboy: The Crooked Man given the reboot is helmed by series creator Mike Mignola.
