‘Heads Of State’ Review: John Cena And Idris Elba Try To Save The World And This Movie Loaded With Action, Violence, Explosions, And Not Much Else

A review of 'Heads Of State' in which John Cena and Idris Elba are World Leaders caught up in a plot to kill them both and fighting to save the world

This one is skipping theatrical and headed straight to streaming on Amazon Prime where it likely will find an eager global audience of couch dwellers starving for a movie full of explosions, chases, and stuntmen being paid overtime. As we meet them ahead of a NATO gathering in Trieste Italy it is clear they are at odds in seemingly every way, but to put a good face on international relations they agree it would be a smart idea to perhaps arrive together via a short flight in Derringer’s Air Force One jet. What they must do is get to a disguised CIA safe house called the Golden Mountain Mining Company which they manage to do after failing to hot wire a car on a farm and landing in a vehicle accompanied by a bunch of sheep. At the safe house they meet the eager and lone agent on duty, Marty Comer (Jack Quaid) who is thrilled to be able to protect these powerful men with his boatload of imposing weaponry and useful gadgets to fend off those bad guys hot of their trail, the main one being the most wanted Viktor Gradov ( Paddy Considine) who is determined to get them before they get him and his henchman Arthur Hammond (Stephen Root).
