A 'Happy Gilmore' sequel is in development and a script has even been written, according to actor Christopher McDonald.

A sequel to classic Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore may be in the making, as a first draft of the script has already been written, according to actor Christopher McDonald, a cast member of the original film. With the help of a retired golf pro named Chubbs Peterson, played by the late Carl Weathers, he decides to join the PGA Tour to win enough money to save his grandmother’s house. Released by Universal Pictures in 1996, the film directed by Dennis Dugan grossed over $82 million worldwide and retains a cult following to this day.
