Deadline has confirmed that a temporary restraining order was filed against Gil Ramirez, a 60-year-old educator vying for Vassos’ affection on The Golden Bachelorette. As a result of “newly confirmed information” that was revealed by People, the show has edited Ramirez’ already limited screen time and cut back his appearances in promotional spots going forward. A source close to production told Deadline that “this protective order did not surface in our searches,” but the revelation has still called into question the franchise’s vetting process as this is not the first time a contestant with a criminal history has been cast on The Bachelorette.
