Actor Johnny Wactor had just finished a bartending shift and was walking an unidentified female co-worker to her car when he was shot and killed by thieves apparently attempting to steal a catalytic converter from his car. The General Hospital actor’s brother Grant has told the Daily Mail that Wactor initially thought his vehicle was being towed, but when he realized what was actually happening he shielded the co-worker by putting her behind him. “We’re Southern, born and raised, and we would never let a female walk to their car by herself,” Grant Wactor told the news outlet.
