SAM REICH: In reality, I appreciate that our odds are a little distant in the sense of if you look at Game Changer versus the other likely nominees in its category, we stand out in a lot of un-strategic ways. The danger is always in the middle zone where it’s like, ‘Oh, maybe if we gave this some more time,’ or, ‘Maybe we didn’t nail the marketing,’ or, ‘Maybe if we tweaked this or that about the format.’ The indicators were critical and the social media chatter from the fans was effusively positive, so the feeling was like we got something here. We would have needed to keep it in the studio for it to work with season five’s budget, and we thought about maybe putting everybody in isolation booths, and then by the time we had explored that, not only was that going to be very expensive, but it’s going to mean that our players are really, really restricted in terms of movement.
