'Franklin' Trailer: See Michael Douglas Embody Benjamin Franklin Amid the American Revolution

The forthcoming Apple TV+ series looks at Franklin's time in France amid the American Revolution.

The eight-episode Apple TV+ series, which premieres April 12, focuses on Benjamin Franklin's time in France amid the American Revolution. "Without your aid," Douglas' founding father warns in the trailer, "the United States will end before it has begun." The series -- adapted from A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America by Stacy Schiff -- also stars Marc Duret, Ludivine Sagnier, Thibault de Montalembert, Daniel Mays, Assaad Bouab, Eddie Marsan, Jeanne Balibar, Théodore Pellerin and John Hollingworth.
