'Forgotten' Strictly star who died suddenly at just 38 while at home with his dog

Late funny man Jason Wood took part in the original series of Strictly Come Dancing 20 years ago, and was the first ever contender to experience a big Strictly moment

Jason made a name for himself on the comedy circuit in the early 2000s and was celebrated for his remarkable voice and uncannily accurate impersonations of singers – everyone from Alison Moyet to Morrissey to Sarah Brightman and Luciano Pavarotti were part of the talented star’s repertoire. Jason took part in the second series of the show – which broadcast on the Living channel – alongside former Strictly dancer Camilla Dallerup, and actor Lesley Joseph and Brian Blessed and singer Javine. Jason made appearances on many TV shows (Image: YouTube)His success was cut short, however, in 2010, when the comedian died in his sleep in the Bedfordshire cottage he shared with his dog Jim.
