‘Footloose’ Star Lynne Marta Dies at 78 After ‘Good Fight’ With Cancer: ‘A Dear Heart’


‘Footloose’ and ‘Starsky and Hutch’ actress Lynne Marta died in her Los Angeles home on January 11. She was 78 when she ‘lost her good fight’ with cancer.

A wonderfully talented actress and a beautiful singer whose voice was of the angels,” Joan wrote on January 12 alongside a professional headshot of Lynne. The New Jersey native began her outstanding entertainment career at a young age on the dance series The Lloyd Thaxton Show. The late Hollywood starlet gained popularity in the 1970s when she landed recurring roles in Cannon and Starsky and Hutch and appeared in the film Help Me … I’m Possessed.
