‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Officially in the Works at Universal and Blumhouse
'Five Nights at Freddy's,' a horror-thriller set a haunted Chuck E. Cheese-esque establishment, is getting a sequel.
Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, which backed the first film, confirmed the news at CinemaCon, the annual convention for movie theater owners that’s currently taking place in Las Vegas. Adapted from the popular video game, last October’s “Five Nights at Freddy’s” made a killing at the box office with $297 million globally and became Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film of all time. Josh Hutcherson, who stars in the original as a nighttime security guard at Freddys Fazbear’s Pizza, where the animatronic mascots are prone to murder, has previously expressed his desire for a sequel.
