‘Empire’ star hit with almost $1 million judgment after saying it’s ‘immoral’ to tax descendants of slaves

“In truth, the entire United States should, by default, become the property of the descendants of slaves," Terrence Howard said in a voicemail message to a tax lawyer.

The Justice Department sued the “Empire” star in 2022 over the issue, but the actor’s only response appears to have been an angry voicemail he left on the phone of the case’s lead tax attorney in November. Howard, who earned an Academy Award nomination for best actor for the movie “Hustle and Flow,” has had tax troubles for many years, the Inquirer reported.
