'Empire' EP Would Work With Jussie Smollett After Hoax: 'It's Complicated'

'Empire' creator Lee Daniels admitted his friendship with Jussie Smollett remains 'complicated' after the actor was found guilty of disorderly conduct

Empire, which ran from 2015 to 2020, centered on a fictional hip hop music and entertainment company and the drama among the family members of the founder Lucious Lyon ( Terrence Howard). He was sentenced to 30 months of felony probation — 150 days of which were to be served in jail — and required to pay the city of Chicago $120,000 in restitution and a fine of $25,000. Celebrities such as Cameron Diaz and Rick Moranis rose to stardom in Hollywood — only to leave their acting careers in the past.
