Karla Sofía Gascón is clearing up recently made comments involving fellow Oscar nominee Fernanda Torres.
Gascón claimed in an interview that people around Torres were trying to diminish her work but made it clear that her remarks were not aimed at the Brazilian actress. Amid the controversy, Torres, who recently won at the Golden Globes for her acting work in I’m Still Here, addressed the “hate” online and asked people to be kind to Gascón. Gascón and Torres are nominated in the Best Actress category alongside Demi Moore ( The Substance), Cynthia Erivo ( Wicked), and Mikey Madison ( Anora).
