‘Dance Moms’ Creator Jeff Collins Launches New Company, Partners With Sony Pictures TV’s Nonfiction Unit (EXCLUSIVE)
Veteran unscripted producer Jeff Collins ("Dance Moms") has sealed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction.
“Jeff has a track record of identifying great characters and fascinating environments that lend themselves to hit reality shows,” Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction prexy Eli Holzman and co-prez Aaron Saidman said in a joint statement. “His slate is an excellent complement to SPT Nonfiction’s existing portfolio, and we look forward to supporting him in bringing his unique brand of content to networks, streamers, and a global audience hungry for great TV.” Besides executive producing the successful “Dance Moms” franchise, Collins recently served as president of Catalina Content, overseeing projects such as “The Mighty Underdogs” at Discovery+ and specials as part of the true crime series “Snapped: Notorious” at Peacock.
