For eight years, the “Daily Show” host and correspondent has pulled up to the president’s rallies and interviewed his craziest MAGA-draped cheerleaders for the segment “Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse.” In more than 100 videos and six full-length specials, he’s engaged with their conspiracy theories and debated them on policy, to the tune of 232 million views. In 2024, when Jon Stewart announced he’d be returning to “The Daily Show” to anchor once a week, Klepper became a regular host alongside fellow correspondents Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta and Desi Lydic. With Stewart’s contract expiring in December, the question of who will become the permanent host looms over “The Daily Show.” That uncertainty is coupled with turmoil at Comedy Central’s parent company, Paramount, which, under pressure from Trump, has interfered with the journalistic independence of CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” causing its longtime executive producer to quit.
