‘Clueless’ Sequel Series With Alicia Silverstone Returning in Development at Peacock
Alicia Silverstone is attached to reprise the role of Cher Horowitz in a "Clueless" sequel series at Peacock, Variety has learned.
“Clueless” originally debuted in 1995 and is loosely based on the Jane Austen novel “Emma.” Along with Silverstone, the cast included Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, and Dan Hedaya. Their other credits include “Looking for Alaska,” “The OC,” “Runaways,” “Hart of Dixie,” the “Dynasty” reboot, and “Nancy Drew.” The pair recently co-created the Apple TV+ drama “City on Fire,” based on the novel of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg. Weiss most recently wrote the screenplay for the highly anticipated sequel “Freakier Friday,” which will see Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprise their roles from the 2003 film.
