In Hulu ‘s first teaser for the upcoming comedy series, the first two episodes premiering Sept. 30 on the streaming platform, the Golden Globe nominee plays hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, who disguises himself as the titular football player to join a new team after tanking his own college career. Debuting during game four of the NBA Finals, the teaser sees Russ getting dragged on social media after dropping the ball during a crucial play. Featuring a pilot co-written by Powell and Michael Waldron, Chad Powers is based on the sketch produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions that aired on ESPN+ as part of the Eli’s Places series.
