‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy’ Emmy Submissions: Renée Zellweger Eyes Historic Double

Peacock's 'Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy' has set its Emmy submissions. Renée Zellweger eyes history as an Oscar & Emmy nominee for the same role.

Zellweger landed the first of her four Oscar nominations to date (including two wins) for the first installment in the franchise, the 2001 Bridget Jones’ Diary. One of Zellweger’s leading men in the first two Bridget Jones movies, Hugh Grant, also made a return in Mad About the Boy, reprising his role as (somewhat) reformed womanizer Daniel Cleaver. Grant is one of three Mad About the Boy submissions in the category, alongside the franchise newcomers who play Bridget’s love interests in the new installment, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall.
