‘Bridgerton’ Star Phoebe Dynevor Hails “Amazing” Wave Of Screen Roles For Older Women, But Worries Young Actresses Now Missing Out On Best Parts
Phoebe Dynevor has claimed that it's not the best time to be a young actress, with older women and men securing the best screen roles.
In an interview with The London Evening Standard, the star of Netflix’s Bridgerton and Fair Play claimed that all of the best screen roles are being written for older women and men. Dynevor, who is nominated for the rising star prize at this year’s BAFTA Film Awards, said she was so thoughtful about the imbalance that she would like to produce the “material that I feel is missing.” She told the Standard that she “probably shouldn’t” be voicing her views about a lack of roles for young women, but felt compelled to speak out despite having read some “great scripts” recently.
