‘Bookie’ Co-Creator Nick Bakay Teases New Guest Stars & Return Of Charlie Sheen: “I Refer To His Arrival As Deus Ex Sheen”
Charlie Sheen is back to play himself in the second season of the Sebastian Maniscalco comedy.
Bookie returns to Max December 12 with a familiar face and the appearance of two TV comedy vets who were recruited to help spice up the action around the sports betting world. “Charlie was such a home run for us in season one, we thought we’d extend the metaphor a little,” Nick Bakay, who co-created the comedy with Chuck Lorre, tells Deadline. “The timing was kinda perfect as Chuck and I were in the midst of cooking up scripts, and we tailored an over-the-top tout selling NFL picks with a crazy rap for him, one of those guys who promises he has a 90% win rate and guarantees you the good life,” continues Bakay.
