Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are set to expand the Blue Beetle universe with a new animated series.

Director Angel Manuel Soto and screenwriter Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer are on board as executive producers, along with John Rikard, who held the same role in the film. The report suggest that the series will not simply rehash the film’s plot but will introduce a distinct storyline that could set the stage for future cinematic projects featuring the titular character, potentially played by Xolo Maridueña.
