In Birthright, written by Cerar, journalist Maya James is stunned when she is made heir to one of the largest and most profitable liquor businesses in America, but it’s a gift that upends her life as she uncovers the many secrets buried by her benefactors. This marks the third major project for Cerar under her deal at Kapital, following Women of the Movement, which ran on ABC in 2022, and Black Cake, which premiere on Hulu in November.
