'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,' 'Transformers One' lead international box office charts over "The Wild Robot."
Among Hollywood titles, “Transformers One” led the way with $16.6 million from 61 international territories, representing a 44% decline from the prior weekend. Meanwhile, “The Wild Robot,” which is staggering its foreign rollout and is comparatively playing on far fewer screens, brought in $9.86 million from 29 markets. Since reviews and audience scores have been enthusiastic, “The Wild Robot” should enjoy the kind of staying power that benefitted post-pandemic animated family films such as Pixar’s “Elemental” and Illumination’s “Migration.” Lupita Nyong’o voices the isolated android called ROZZUM unit 7134, who goes by Roz and soon develops a bond with an orphaned gosling.
