Richard Gadd ‘s darkly comic “true story” of his experience with an alleged stalker has been recognized despite being plagued by controversy over its authenticity and safeguarding processes. Netflix is fighting a $170M defamation and negligence lawsuit from Fiona Harvey, the woman who claims to be the real-life Martha (Gunning), the supposedly convicted stalker in Gadd’s “true story.”
