‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Bets Big on ‘X-Men,’ ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Thunderbolts,’ but Will Fans Care Without the Original Stars?
The 'Avengers: Doomsday' cast was revealed, with Fantastic Four, X-Men and Thunderbolts stars, but few of the original stars.
Stewart popped up as Professor Charles Xavier in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Tatum memorably appeared in “Deadpool & Wolverine” and Grammer had a post-credits cameo in “The Marvels,” but McKellen, Cumming, Marsden and Romijn haven’t reprised their roles in years. There’s been no official casting announced for the franchise’s future, but fans think “Stranger Things” star Sadie Sink could be playing Jean Grey in “Spider-Man 4.” “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” may wipe the “X-Men” slate clean before launching full-force into the mutants. But fans were likely disappointed to discover that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Chris Pratt’s Star Lord, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool are joining them on the bench.
