However, what many people didn’t notice was that in the same Deadline report confirming Evans’ return, Anthony Mackie was also stated to be making an appearance as the Star Spangled Man in the upcoming project. Given Avengers: Doomsday is set to cap off the multiverse saga, many assumed that they’d be able to see Anthony Mackie interact with a version of Chris Evans’ Captain America from another universe. Though given Rogers is still alive, it would make more sense to see him serve as an older advisor to Sam Wilson in leading a new Avengers team as Captain America.
