‘Avatar 3’ Titled ‘Fire and Ash,’ James Cameron Reveals


'Avatar' will keep with the elemental theme following 2022’s 'The Way of Water,' with the third film in the series now titled 'Fire and Ash.'

Director James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana were on hand Friday, at the Disney D23 expo, where they revealed the title of Dec. 2025-bound blockbuster as well as shared some details about the third installment in the franchise. While no footage from the movie was unveiled, Cameron did share some concept art for Fire and Ash, which focuses on a clan of the blue-skinned Na’vi that resides on the planet Pandora’s volcanic regions. Much of the Avatar cast will return for the new installment, with new additions including Oona Chaplin, Michelle Yeoh, and David Thewlis.
