‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Becomes Game Franchise’s Second-Highest Selling Launch Day Title
"Assassin's Creed Shadows" has become the the Ubisoft-developed franchise's second-highest selling title ever at launch.
In internal communications obtained Monday by Variety, the developer told employees that player engagement is at “record levels” and that “feedback across moderated, verified platforms — those less affected by review bombing — remains incredibly positive.” Though no specific sales numbers have been revealed for the game, a source within Ubisoft has confirmed to Variety that “Shadows” had the next-best Day 1 sales revenue for an “Assassin’s Creed” title behind only “Valhalla.” The title also marks Ubisoft’s best Day 1 launch of any game on the PlayStation digital store. On the gaming platform, “Shadows” has already surpassed “Odyssey’s” “all-time peak” stat for concurrent users.
