‘Area 51’ Single-Camera Comedy In Works At CBS From Steven Lilien, Bryan Wynbrandt, Laura Moran & Atomic Monster

God Friended Me creators Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt are returning to CBS, teaming with Laura Moran & James Wan's Atomic Monster for 'Area 51'.

Multi-camera comedies are cheaper to produce, making them attractive for broadcast networks as budgets get squeezed amid declining linear ratings. For studios, broadcast single-camera comedies are hard to justify financially because of their higher cost and depressed network license fees. Moran, whose series writing credits also include Harley Quinn, Undateable and The Dangerous Book For Boys, is repped by UTA and Melissa Fox.
