'An Officer And A Gentleman' remake in the works at Paramount with Miles Teller Starring
The original 1982 pic starred Richard Gere, Debra Winger and Louis Gossett Jr. follows a loner who sets out to finish his Navy Officer training while dealing with a tough as nails drill sergeant while also finding love with a local townie. Given the success of Top Gun: Maverick, Co-Presidents of Paramount’s Motion Picture Group, Daria Cercek and Mike Ireland, eyed Teller for the role, expanding the relationship between him and the studio.The 2022 sequel brought in $1.4 billion dollars at the global box-office and a best picture nomination and since then the two parties have been in constant conversations of what that next project could be. Teller recently wrapped production on the Apple Studios event pic The Gorge as his follow-up to Top Gun: Maverick and with this project, his upcoming slate will only continue to diversify in an impressive way.
