The show is now looking for her replacement to sit alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryant on the judging panel. Deadline hears that there have been conversations with a number of high-profile stars but there is no deal for Perry’s replacement. American Idol has provided consistently strong ratings for ABC since the network picked it up in 2018 (after it ended its run at Fox in 2016).
