‘American Idol’ Recruits Winner Carrie Underwood as New Judge


Carrie Underwood has joined 'American Idol' as a judge following Katy Perry's departure. She's the first former winner to return in the position.

In June, Meghan Trainor told Watch What Happens Live ‘s Andy Cohen, “I have begged for this job … I’ve done every interview in the world and said that that is my dream job.” She had the resume for it, having hosted The Four: Battle for Stardom, The Voice UK, and Australian Idol.
