‘American Idol’ Alum Doug Kiker’s Cause of Death Revealed
American Idol star Doug Kiker tragically passed away after an opioid overdose ruled accidental, leaving behind his family and kids.
The singer died from an opioid overdose, according to a report from the City and County of Denver Medical Examiner obtained by TMZ on Thursday, April 17. Kiker’s death was reportedly caused by “the combined toxic effects of fentanyl, methadone, and amphetamines, with recent cocaine use” and was ruled an accident. After winning over the judges — and viewers at home — Kenedi Anderson, Wyatt Pike and more contestants have dropped out of American Idol for various reasons over the years.
