POM Anime unveils 2025 slate with 'Akira' 4K restoration, 'Dan Da Dan' sequel, 'Grave of the Fireflies' and 'Lupin' across 20+ European territories.
Amsterdam-based Piece of Magic Entertainment ‘s anime division has unveiled a 2025 distribution slate that puts theatrical exhibition at the center of its European expansion strategy, with the crown jewel being a 4K restoration of cyberpunk classic “ Akira.” This marks the first-ever theatrical release in several markets, expanding POM’s 2023 “Akira” footprint from 12 to 20 territories, now including the Nordics and Baltics alongside Poland, Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Albania, Bulgaria, and Serbia. POM Anime has previously distributed major titles including “Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train,” “Jujutsu Kaisen 0,” “One Piece Film: Red,” and “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.”
