‘After Midnight’ Canceled at CBS as Taylor Tomlinson Focuses on Stand-Up


It's closing time for CBS' 'After Midnight,' which is being cancelled following host Taylor Tomlinson's decision to pursue stand up and other projects

Many executives at networks owned by Paramount Global are loath to take big swings and run up more costs, says the person familiar with the matter, as the parent company pushed to consummate its acquisition by Skydance Media. Trevor Noah, the host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” surprised his own producers and writers — not to mention executives at the network’s parent company — when he announced in front of a live audience in 2022 that he planned to leave the program within weeks. The shows have been built in recent years to bring young people to TV, but those are the very consumers jumping first to new streaming behaviors that are less tied to watching programs at a specific time and date.
