‘A Guilty Conscience’ Wins Best Film; ‘The Goldfinger’ Scoops Six Prizes At Hong Kong Film Awards


A Guilty Conscience scooped best film at this year’s Hong Kong Film Awards, while The Goldfinger won six prizes, including best actor for Tony Leung.

Mystery thriller Mad Fate, which premiered at Berlin film festival in 2023, was also a multiple winner, taking best director for Soi Cheang and best screenplay for Yau Nai Hoi and Melvin Li. Yoyo Tse won best new performer for her role as a young immigrant in Fly Me To The Moon, while Nick Cheuk repeated his Golden Horse and Asian Film Awards wins by taking best new director for Time Still Turns The Pages(see full list of winners below). Taiwanese crime drama The Pig, The Snake, And The Pigeon, which was recently a huge sleeper hit in China, was awarded best Asian Chinese-language film.
