‘& Juliet’ Recoups $17 Million Broadway Capitalization, Becoming Only Fourth Profitable Post-Pandemic New Musical
& Juliet, the playful, pop-infused musical that gives Shakespeare's lovestruck heroine a second chance, has recouped its $17 million capitalization.
When the Neil Diamond musical A Beautiful Noise closes at the end of this month, & Juliet will be the only Broadway show that opened during the 2022-23 season still playing. Since its opening on Broadway on November 17, 2022 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre,& Juliet has grossed more than $93 million and drawn more than 650,000 audience members to date. The musical, created by David West Read ( Schitt’s Creek) and featuring pop hits of Max Martin, is directed by Luke Sheppard with choreography by Jennifer Weber.
