90s one-hit wonder star died at 53 in breast cancer battle after not being allowed treatment
Chrissy Amphlett found fame as the lead singer of the Australian rock band The Divinyls in the 1990s, but she sadly passed away in 2013 following a battle with breast cancer
Following this, singer Chrissy began to broaden her horizons and set her sights on a stage career, appearing in theatre productions in Australia. Her family said in a statement: “Christine Joy Amphlett succumbed to the effects of breast cancer and multiple sclerosis, diseases she vigorously fought with exceptional bravery and dignity. With her force of character and vocal strength,” the statement added, “she paved the way for strong, sexy, outspoken women.”
