80s legend dies as devastated friends pen emotional tribute
Chris Cross, who was in the band Ultravox and co-wrote their hit Vienna, has sadly passed away and his bandmate shared a heartfelt tribute to the "glue that held the band together"
His bandmate, Midge Ure shared a heartfelt tribute following the news as he said: "We worked together, we played together, made music and directed videos together. Fans have also paid tribute to the bass player with Ultravox as one wrote: "Devastated to hear the news of Chris cross’s passing a real hero of mine from the early days of Tiger Lilly and through the two incarnations of Ultravox never the front man but an essential part of their hits." One fan reflected on the time they met the 80s legend and said: "So sad to hear about Chris Cross from @UltravoxUK who passed away last week.
