Watch enough 'American Idol' and it's likely some of the same songs will be performed over and over again
Ahead of the season 23 premiere, judge Lionel Richie revealed to Entertainment Weekly that there’s one particular song he can’t stand to hear during the audition process any longer. Season 23 hopeful Amanda Barise wowed the judges with her rendition of this soulful hit, which Richie previously admitted to EW gives him “shakes and hives.” Disney/Eric McCandless Originally performed by Holliday in the musical Dreamgirls, Hudson also gave this song new life in the 2006 movie adaptation — which won her the Oscar that contributed to her prestigious EGOT title.
