The 49ers maintained a lead throughout most of the game, but the Chiefs were victorious scoring a last-minute touchdown by Mecole Hardman Jr. in the final overtime minutes. “Being a part of something bigger than yourself, you know, you get wrapped up in getting all the glory and the fame and the status, and I feel like that’s a shallow life and that can fade away pretty quickly.” The duo – who met while attending Iowa State University where Purdy played football and Brandt was a setter on the volleyball team — announced their engagement in July 2023 after one year of dating.
