Zoe Saldaña Says She Gets 'Cool Points' from Her Kids for Doing Children's Movies, Even if They Don't Always Watch

Zoe Saldaña opened up about what it meant to her to star in a movie like 'Elio,' which appeals to a younger audience, as a mom to three sons. During a June 4 appearance on 'Good Morning America,' she said being part of the movie earned her "cool points" with her sons.

The 46-year-old Oscar winner shares three sons — twins Bowie and Cy, 10, and her youngest Zen, 8 — with husband Marco Perego. Saldaña stars in the movie, which Disney and Pixar has been teasing for more than two years, alongside Yonas Kibreab, who voices the titular character, an 11-year-old boy who is mistaken for the leader of the planet by a group of aliens. After taking home the trophy, she told PEOPLE that her sons talk about the moment "in soccer language."
