Warner’s TNT Sports Will Stop Producing Content for NBA’s Cable Network


Warner Bros. Discovery's TNT Sports will stop making content for NBA TV, ending an nearly two-decade-old TV alliance

Discovery will cease making content for NBA TV, the basketball league’s cable network, ending a partnership that has been extant since 2008, and answering one of the last remaining questions about the two parties’ years-long alliance in the wake of the NBA’s decision to move its TV rights to NBCUniversal and Amazon from Warner’s TNT Sports. But “after discussions with the NBA in recent months, we have mutually decided to part ways at the end of the 2024-25 season,” said Luis Silberwasser, chairman and CEO of TNT Sports, in a memo reviewed by Variety. However, we were unable to agree on a path forward that recognized the value of our expertise, quality content, and operational excellence that our fans and partners have come to expect from TNT Sports,” Silberwasser said.
