Vernon Kay 'going to the Tower' after throwing King Charles and Camilla 'under the bus'

In a historical-themed segment of his BBC Radio 2 show, Vernon Kay opened up about the broadcaster moving a massive record library to a new building in the 1960s

Vernon Kay has issued an on-air apology to King Charles and Queen Camilla after he accidentally implicated the royal household in a blunder. Despite his earlier gaffe, he had nothing but compliments for the Firm, describing them as "very welcoming in the back garden of Buckingham Palace", assuring the listener that they would have a "fabulous day" and saying the "cakes are superb". Vernon further added: "And if you get to bump into or shake hands with a member of the Royal Family, they are very, very gracious, very courteous, and right proper down to earth, I'll be honest with you."
