Tom Jones recently revealed he 'almost collapsed' while recording the iconic theme tune for the James Bond movie Thunderball.

The Welsh singer, 85, was recruited last-minute to conjure up a number incorporating the movie's name after Shirley Bassey and Dionne Warwick's attempts were axed by producers for exceeding the opening credits length. Sharing the nerve-wracking incident on Radio 2's Sound of the 60s with Tony Blackburn, Tom said: 'John Barry, who wrote the music, and Don Black did the lyrics, Tom Jones recently revealed he 'almost collapsed' while recording the iconic theme tune for the James Bond movie Thunderball (pictured in 2017)
